Alfie Moore: A face for radio

Date:  23rd Mar Start Time:  19:30
Categories:  Comedy Venue Address:  Evesham Town Hall vine Street Evesham Worcestershire

Somewhere in a parallel universe little Alfie’s natural comedic performance skills were recognised by his doting parents who encouraged and developed his blossoming talent. After several years as a stage school brat Alfie’s angelic face was launched on stage and screen and the rest is history.

Meanwhile, in this universe Alfie Moore was told to stop messing about in class before being ‘encouraged’ into the grinding, grimy world of an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When recession hit he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police.
Thirty years of shift-work, initially in the Sheffield steelworks and then as a copper on the beat (where he was punched in the face quite a lot), has left him with ‘a face for radio’. A face not so much ‘lived in’ as inhabited by a settlement of squatters with little regard to property maintenance and repair.

In his 40s a surprising career shift turned middle-aged Alfie from street cop to BBC radio star. But when TV fame beckoned could he grasp it or was he past it?

An Evening With The Inbetweeners’ Joe Thomas!

Date:  4th May Start Time:  19:30
Categories:  Comedy Venue Address:  Evesham Town Hall Vine Street Evesham Worcestershire

We’re talking all things The Inbetweeners at this special evening with actor comedian Joe Thomas!

It wasn’t long after audiences were first introduced to hapless sixth-formers Will McKenzie, Neil Sutherland, Jay Cartright and Simon Cooper that The Inbetweeners became one of the nation’s best loved shows. With its endlessly quotable lines and outrageous laugh-per-second banter, the sitcom attracted record-breaking viewing figures and inspired two incredibly successful feature films.

Celebrating seventeen years since the show’s debut, Joe Thomas aka Simon Cooper is here in-conversation all about the series and taking questions from the audience. Hearing all about Joe’s favourite Inbetweeners moments and behind the scenes misadventures, as well as its impact on his own life as an actor/comedian, this promises to be an exciting evening of humour and insight from one of the nation’s best loved young sitcom stars. We’ll also, of course, be touching on Joe’s other work, including Fresh Meat, White Gold and TaskMaster!

Join Joe in the beautiful surroundings of Evesham Town Hall for a night that will never be forgotten!

Joe is happy to stay around for a short while after the show, meet fans and take pictures!

This event has a recommended age of 14+. It contains very strong language and sexual references used throughout.
