Alistair McGowan: ‘Not What We Were Expecting’ : an evening of poetry and comedy.

To celebrate the publication of his first collection of poetry (‘Not What We Were Expecting’), Alistair comes to the Theatrebarn to read a selection of his own work.

Interspersed with some of his unique stand-up comedy and classic impressions, this is an evening blending humour and emotion which is not to be missed.

Of his poetry, Joanna Lumley has said : “All the wit you’d expect and yearn for but with a really surprising and delicious sensitivity.”

Fellow poet, Henry Normal said : “Alistair’s sense of fun we know but the tenderness of his poetry adds new depths to our understanding of the man and his work.”

While Simon Callow said : “Observant. Wry. Masterly.”
